Dr. Blackwell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Computer Science before serving in the US Navy from 2000 to 2006, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. He then worked for a Department of Defense contracting company for two years before deciding on a career change to dentistry.
Dr. Blackwell earned his DMD from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark, NJ. During this time, he received the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award for Academic Excellence and was invited to join the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society. He then went on to complete an intensive one year residency program at Danbury Hospital where he received additional training in all phases of general dentistry.
When he is not treating patients, Dr. Blackwell enjoys the quiet pursuits of reading, working outdoors, and spending time with family. He is also a classic car enthusiast, having owned a 1967 Mustang during his time in the Navy. Dr. Blackwell looks forward to rebuilding another classic muscle car with his daughters, Katherine and Victoria, in the coming years. Dr. Blackwell and his wife, Erin, reside in Southbury, CT with their two beautiful girls.
